Professor David Foskett MBE - Non-Executive Director

Professor David Foskett is an Associate Dean of TVU's London School of Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure. Professor Foskett is also a member of the Academy of Culinary Arts, and has worked within the hospitality Industry for over 40 years coupled with a career with TVU (Thames Valley University) stretching back 30 years. David sits on various guiding committees advising on hospitality training and education, coupled with conducting extensive research on the trends and growth within the hospitality industry. These are just some of David’s achievements to date:

• Pioneering the BSc in International Culinary Arts for Practicing Chefs, the first of its kind in the UK
• Co-authoring 'Practical Cookery' and 'The Theory of Catering' - together these books have sold more than two million copies
• Pioneering the hugely successful Saturday morning Junior Chef's Academy for local high school children
• Helping to raise thousands for charity through his association with the Society of Stars and by helping to organise fundraising dinners.
• Hospitality & Food Consultant for 2 Royal Households
• Many Gold medal awards
• 3 times runner up – “Chef of the Year”

As well as being awarded the prestigious MBE, David is also a judge on the Caterer's Catey Awards, and was awarded a Catey award himself in 2003 for Education and Training - considered to be the Oscars of the Hospitality and Catering Industry. In 2004 David was also awarded a special award from the Craft Guild of Chefs for Outstanding Recognition in 2004.

Maggie Walker - Managing & Sales Director

Maggie has worked within the Hospitality Industry for many years, and also has in-depth experience of working with internet companies. She has successfully managed and built teams and companies within the hospitality industry. Maggie went to one of Scotlands top hotel management and catering schools and after leaving started the hard knock road of career climbing within the hospitality industry. Maggie worked for some of the industries top hotel groups as well as hospitality suppliers - working in the UK and internationally in business development, and sales and marketing.. Developing this portal has long been her ambition and Maggie's experience and has provided the perfect platform to realise this dream and project. This dream and hospitality project would not have been realised had it not been for the excellent team, as detailed below. Plus an enormous amount of hard work, enthusiasm, creativity, blood, sweat and tears - but primarily the passion that we all had for this project that made it possible - and the portal came to realisation - we hope you enjoy it. But we do know we can always improve - and every day we are adding, changing and trying to make things easier and better within the hospitality portal, and in each and every site - but please don't hesitate in telling us how we can improve - "our customers are our business"

David Walker - Marketing and Media Director - CIM / MBA

David is a Business, Marketing & Media expert, as well as a well known and well respected practising academic. He has extensive experience building businesses within the Hospitality Industry as well as online marketing expertise. As we develop the site and grow, our customers will begin to see our "user and gluer" strategies, which we hope you will enjoy. David is very sensitive to non-intrusive marketing so you will not be annoyed or bombarded with constant emails - you don't really want - nor will you ever see any annoying pop-ups on our site - unless it is to inform you of important information regarding our site - or information that as Internet business we feel you should know. David is also a qualified online E-Moderator -which means he can legally create online certified courses - for students to follow and gain certificates online - you may see more of this in the future - either directly or indirectly working with other educators and trainers. We are therefore happy to hear from other like companies or people who are interested in training and educating our Industry

Greg Shiers - Operations and Media Manager

Greg is a graphic design graduate from Nottingham University - but he primarily gained a lot of his technical expertise working for large Internet companies in his native South Africa. Greg's ability to communicate at all levels has proved invaluable to us - both internally and externally. Greg's love of life - keen eye - hard work and a strong desire to produce the very best has greatly enhanced our team & site. His combination of graphics, techincal, project management & media skills is a formidable skills base and a skills base that we cherish greatly. He had a huge task taking on a project of this nature - but has risen to the challenge. Greg's initial task was to build the page designs, layouts, and flow processes - we hope we have provided our cutomers with enjoyable user processes. Other members of the Hospitality site team were responsible for company branding and navigations. As we grow and develop our sites - Greg and the Hospitality Site team intend to continually keep our sites sharp and appealing and from time to time you will see new design changes in line with the constant changing internet environement, but particularly in line with our customer base - and as we grow we intend to enhance and develop all our Hospitality sites - within our portal - in line with our customers needs and demands.

Jarratt Ingram - Database & Technical Manager

Jarratt originally trained in Hotel Management - specialising in F&B. However during this period he discovered the delights of IT - and he was bitten. He therefore decided to change his career path dramatically. Jarratt's thirst for knowledge (and books on the subject) consumed him. He realised of course that he would have to start somewhere around the lower end of the scale - and he joined one of the UK's top ISP's. However, like us they quickly saw his potential and he very quickly moved through their ranks, gaining extensive knowledge of Linux administration, PHP, programming, and Database construction. Jarratt's fastidious approach, his meticulous attention to detail, not to mention his hard work ethos, ensured that he secured a job with one of the UK's top software houses that specialised in security software for the world's top banking institutions. This move took Jarratt into the world of internet security. The knowledge he gained in this environment is insurmountable and we consider it a privilege to have such experience on our team. Jarratt's wicked sense of humour, and being a good round team player has impacted immensely on our project. Watch this space you will see how his experience and knowledge will manifest itself as we grow.
